HAS THE UNREST BECOME A RACIAL ISSUE?

Writer's picture: zo mauzezo mauze

As you may know, South Africa is going through a really rough patch. People are looting stores and causing fires. A few business owners have stopped allowing black people to have access to their services.

Are these business owners protecting their business or is it flat out racism and discrimination?

The economy which we live under was never meant to sustain us as black people or even include us on such a grand scale. It worked because it kept the black inferior and the Whites richer off the services of the blacks. So now due to our lack of building a new economy we are constantly fending for jobs that were meant to sustain 25% of our population, we have things like BBBEE which work to "redress" these inequalities and place black people at the forefront of employment opportunities neglecting that most established businesses are owned by the white population. However, relating to your question, once we make the assumption that this is a racial situation over a business protection…

Very interesting perspective, however do you not feel like it is wrong to have "white only" stores and stop people from going to work because they are black?

Racist people finally found an excuse to express their foul feelings towards Black South Africans.

It’s racist. “protecting“ your business would be temporarily closing the physical building/store and working on an online basis for sales to continue. Depriving people of their needs because of the colour of their skin is discrimination.
